Remembering the "Comfort Women"

A survivor of Japanese military sexual slavery during WWII, Grandma Yongsoo Lee spoke in AAS 360 Koreans in the US on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Grandma Lee , who is 87 years old, is  the last of the surviving “comfort women."  She spoke on the importance of the Japanese government taking  responsibility for the military sexual slavery of more than 200,000 women and children during WWII.   She also spoke to the importance of remembering what tragically happened to  so many young women and girls during WWII.  On Sept. 17, 2015, Grandma Lee spoke at the San Francisco Board of Supervisors subcommittee meeting where they unanimously passed a resolution to remember the "comfort women" through a memorial
