AAS Faculty speak at SFUSD School Board Meeting

On January 24, the San Francisco Unified School District board voted unanimously to rescind San Francisco’s anti-Asian school policies dating as far back as 1871, all of which have never been rescinded. Commissioners Emily M. Murase and Stevon Cook co-presented the resolution with community support and speakers from TACT (The Association of Chinese Teachers), the Association of Asian American Administrators (AAAA), the National Japanese American Historical Society (NJAHS), and the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL). AAS faculty who were involved and present included Lorraine Dong, Marlon Hom, and Laureen Chew who spoke before the board.
