Grace Yoo receives the 2016 Distinguished Faculty Excellence in Service Award

 

AAS faculty Grace Yoo was recently awarded the  San Francisco State University Distinguished Faculty, Excellence in Service award.  For two decades, she has been involved in leading a myriad of research projects and programs that have been extramurally funded, widely published and focused on health disparities among Asian Americans, women of color and immigrant communities. Grace is known for her collaborative work including co-authoring with graduate students and working with colleagues within and outside the College of Ethnic Studies.  She has  served  on various university wide committees.  Currently, she is chair of the Lower Division General Education Subcommittee, co-chair of the Baccalaureate Requirements Committee, and also serves as the Chair of the Asian American Studies in the College of Ethnic Studies.  

Past AAS faculty receipients of the Distinguished Faculty, Excellence in Service Award have included  Professor Allyson Tintiangco-Cubales (2011) for her decade long work in founding and developing Pinay Educational Partnerships (PEP)
